I hate waiting for things and there are several things that I want to get (Columbo - Season 4, Kim Harrison's new book, and Laurell K. Hamilton's next two Anita Blake books, just to name a few) that I have to wait for because they aren't out yet. Gah.

Mike is wonderful. He had to work late last night and didn't get home until 8-something, but he still made time to write me a beautiful poem for Valentine's Day. There is not another present in the world that could've made me happier than reading his words did.
It was snowing today so we both called in to work. I'm not a fan of snow at all, but I do love staying home because of it. After it had stopped snowing, we went out in Mike's truck (Dodge > than any other truck) to visit my sister and her husband. They have a beautiful house, but their driveway is an insanely steep hill. I have a hard time walking down it, so I can't imagine actually driving it! Luckly we didn't try - we just slipped down the snowy hill till we got to their door. It was a nice visit (they had cheesecake!) and we left just in time to get home and spend the rest of the day being lazy.
I have a tulip in a flowerpot that's trying to grow in spite of the sub-zero weather outside (it's got about an inch and a half of greenery showing above the dirt in the pot - I think that counts as trying to grow), so a couple of days ago I brought it in so it wouldn't get frostbite or something equally damaging to plants. Just a few minutes ago I looked up in time to see Max delicately nipping the tulip out of the flowerpot. As soon as she realized I'd seen her, she dropped it (making quite a mess on the carpet) and scampered over to me, looking as cute as possible. I think it's a defense mechanism - whenever they sense they're in trouble, they get 10 times cuter so it's hard to stay mad at them. And some people think dogs are stupid!
The payback for three days without Singulair is a sinus infection. At first I thought I just had a strain of Mike's never-ending cold, but when my teeth started hurting yesterday, it began to dawn on me that it might be a bit less benign than a case of the sniffles. Guess who's going to be more diligent about taking her medicine from now on?
